Duke is a sweet lad who is looking for a quiet, rural home. He gets on well with other dogs and loves going for social walks with doggy friends, but he really likes his own space in the home so would need to be the only pet. Duke knows the basics, like sit and 'come', he will need his new humans to carry on with his training though as he finds people irresistible and will jump up a lot.
Duke was unfortunately hit by a car as a youngster and has had surgery to repair his hind leg, due to this he will develop arthritis in that limb in the future. There are lots of fun things he'll be able to do despite this, just not the hours and hours of running that he'd like!
Due to Covid 19 restrictions we aren’t able to invite potential adopters up to the shelter to meet our animals, instead will we match them to their new family virtually (via Zoom) and will then be able to transport them to their new home contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only consider applications from those who live within an hour of the shelter, and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions.
We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest for all of our animals, with some getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our animals their forever homes.
If you can offer Duke the special forever home that he deserves please submit an online enquiry form with as much information as possible about yourself and your experience.
