Chris Packham, TV Presenter and Wildlife Photographer, to Judge Animal Rescue Photo Competition

Kendal, Cumbria – Animal Rescue Cumbria is proud to welcome TV Presenter and Wildlife Expert, Chris Packham, to judge our amateur Cumbrian Canines Photo Competition, to celebrate National Dog Day on the 26th of August.

Our Cumbrian Canines Photo Competition has launched!

We are inviting amateur photographers of all ages to celebrate National Dog Day by capturing the essence of their canine companion and the county of Cumbria. There will be categories for children and adults, and we ask for a £5 donation for each entrant who can upload a maximum of 3 photos. All the funds raised through the competition will help support the 400 cats and dogs we rescue each year.

The winners in each category – Young Photographer and Adult Photographer – will each be offered an individual Pet Portrait Photo Shoot with local professional photographer, David Forknall, from Olive Paw Photography, and receive a canvas print of their favourite image.

The closing date for entries is midnight on 19th August 2021.

The winners will be announced on National Dog Day, 26th August 2021. Our Celebrity Judge, Chris Packham, who is a conservationist, nature photographer and star of BBC’s BAFTA Award-winning Springwatch, Autumnwatch and Winterwatch series, will be selecting the winning photographs.

We are looking forward to seeing all your wonderful pictures and announcing the winners for both categories in August, so good luck to everyone and happy snapping!
