I was thrilled to be appointed a trustee of Animal Rescue Cumbria in 2020. I am connecting my life long love for animals and my career skills developed in land use planning, fundraising and environmental advice to support a fantastic team of people committed to rescuing and rehoming cats and dogs in need.
I moved to Kendal 15 years ago to work for Cumbria County Council. This led to a role with RSPB to help develop nature tourism, followed by stint working with nature conservation charity in Belize before returning home to set up my own business providing landscape, organisational review and funding advice to national and Cumbrian environmental charities. I’ve got a strong insight into how charities at various scales work and some of the overarching issues they often face.
I love the outdoors and feel incredibly lucky to live in Kendal. In my spare time you’ll find me crossing a fell on a mountain bike, swimming across a lake or tarn or enjoying walks in Lakeland with my Irish Terrier, Rufus.
