Until the death of Alfred Wainwright in 1991, Animal Rescue Cumbria was supported by the royalties from the sale his famous guides to walking the Fells. Nowadays, we do not have that regular income and we rely very much on the generosity of those who kindly leave us a legacy in their will. No matter how big or small, each legacy is invaluable to us in caring for our animals and giving them the best start to their new lives.

Not only does a legacy help us to continue our work for animals in need, it also enables us to invest in developing our site so as to provide greater support to our residents well into the future. A legacy can help update our cattery and kennels to provide greater comfort and safety for the animals, or to provide a secure play area for our dogs to enrich their lives whilst they are with us, and a new covered dog barn is a future development that will help us exercise and train our dogs in all weathers. Your legacy can help us help animals long into the future.
